Pen Llyn Lusitano Stud and Riding Centre is the leading Lusitano stud in the UK. Started by Marcia, and her husband Keith, Pendlebury over 30 years ago the centre began breeding Lusitanos in 1992 with the introduction of their foundation stallion, Hilario by Marcia's daughter Janine. Janine has worked with some of the best Portuguese trainers and is renowned in her field for her training skills and extensive knowledge of the Lusitano Breed.

Breeding

From small beginnings the Pendlebury's have expanded their stud to consist of several mares from leading bloodlines including the famous bullfighter Opus 72 and John Whittakers showjumper Novilheiro. Now also the home of the only purebred Veiga stallion in the UK, Uivador Da Broa. His quality was recognised at the International Festival of the Lusitano Horse 2008 winning Champion Male.

Training

The Pendlebury's unique way of training horses with patience and kindness has lead to many clients buying and keeping their horses at the centre.
